The 2018 Forbes Global 2000 includes real estate firms in top 10-position and there are 4 companies from the US in the top 5-position.
Here’s is the list of top 15 companies that made their way into the prestigious list and all these firms belong to real estate except one that deals in communication business.
1. Brookfield Asset Management, Canada
It is an alternate asset management company founded in 1899. It started from Brazil where it provided construction service and management of electricity and transport infrastructure. Today it works in real estate, infrastructure, renewable power and private equity sectors and boasts of global assets to the tune of $196 billion.
2. American Tower Corporation, United States
The company started operations as a unit of American Radio in 1995 and soon became a global player in wireless and broadcast communications business. In 2017, the company got listed in the Fortune 500 list of the Fortune magazine.
3. Simon Property Group, United States
It is a commercial real estate company with several distinctions – biggest retail real estate investment trust and largest shopping mall operator in the US. Founded in 1993, it accrued assets amounting to $31 billion and its market value to around $50 billion in just 25 years.
